Together. • Take a breath In. Feel your lungs expand • And exhale. • You’re a human. You heard it here first. Your mistakes? All part of a bigger plan. Don’t understand? Here's what it's actually like to have a following. • Imagine. You wake up and with no warning, you are pulled onto a stage. It's a huge stage with spot lights. You can't see out into the crowd, but everyone can see you. You can't hear what people are saying, you hear silence, but they are talking. You also were not prepped on what you would say. • You are standing in front of thousands of people and you go to open your mouth, because you have this huge platform and... nothing. You have no idea what you should even say. You want to use your platform for good so you start thinking of things that are important to you. Maybe a large topic? No, too big, you need to talk. People are looking at you and you need to think of something to say NOW. • Okay, maybe something personal? That can't be too hard, you're sharing your life. But you should really take this moment to change something in the world. Maybe start a conversation about an important topic that you feel isn’t talked about enough? • Then the pressure overwhelms you. You run off stage. And people sit in the crowd as the next person goes up and you hear them talk and you shrink inside little by litte. • Having a following was something I always wanted but when it came time to speak to all of you, I felt like nothing I could say would be good enough. I have compared myself for far too long, and I’m ready to speak up. You all FOLLOW my journey and that’s an incredible thing. "Sometimes you have to stop thinking so much and just go where your heart takes you." So here is to taking the pressure off of being in a huge stage, and posting like I’m talking to my friends. Today has been...comical so far. I woke up to a flooded apartment, on top of a small list of unfortunate events. My best friend made the mistake of saying “Atleast it can’t get worse” and 10 minutes later I’m cleaning up glass because of my kitten, Bumble. 🙃 On a day that feels like everything is going wrong, I’m determined to make the rest of the day better. When I go to Charleston I eat way way way too much food. • How does that relate to this image, well... other than the fact that it was taken in Charleston...it doesn’t. I mean, have any of you had Poogan’s Porch?! The fried green tomatoes will change you me life. Magnolias? I was watching Jane the Virgin while I was editing today, and I heard Gina Rodriguez (who play's Jane) say to her grandmother "It sounds bigger in your head. when you get it out, it gets smaller." I can’t remember what her grandmother couldn’t talk about easily, but her words stuck with me. • 1. I love that show- I'll admit it. 2. I feel like I've been trying to not fully be myself for years, maybe out of fear? I'm honestly not sure. Maybe you can relate, But I'm getting out of my head, because whats the point of anything if it isn't real right? I want to share what i'm passionate about with you and not just create content because I know that I need to post. • So, I'm getting it out. I was afraid to be myself and change my business. I wanted to sustain what I had, but growth doesn't exist without change.
