Natalie & Josh Howard County Conservancy Engagement Session

Being a Richmond/ Fredericksburg Virginia wedding photographer can sometimes mean using the same locations over, and over. So it was SUCH a breath of fresh air to go somewhere I had never been before! I headed out to Woodstock, Maryland with so much excitement! I was getting to meet Josh and Natalie

(and who doesn’t love that name?! Natalie, I mean really. such a beautiful name :) Just in case: ps Josh your name is beautiful too.)

If you’ve never been to this Nature center, you should seriously go! I mean one section you think you're in the mountains, one part looks like your in the African fields, one part looks like an enchanted forest, one part looks like an orchard- IT’S AMAZING. It’s like a photographers playground!!

After getting to spend time with these two I’m SO excited for their wedding!! I can see why these two love each other so much and I can’t believe I’m honored with capturing this journey in their life. You aren't going to want to miss a single second of their love story! Just wait until you read what Josh wrote about Nat- TEARS.

The love Story.

Josh and I met in physical therapy school.  Coincidentally, we were actually in the same interview group for the program.

Throughout school, we traveled in the same social circles, but it was not until a class trip to San Diego for a PT conference in early 2013 that we hit it off and soon after arriving back in Baltimore from the trip we were a couple.

Early on, a huge aspect of our relationship was shared experiences in school.

For example, our first "date" took place at a local bar called Pickles after spending an evening studying for a practical.

“Josh proposed last June in Federal Hill Park, a park in Baltimore where WE spent a lot of time while they were dating.

Josh and one of my closest friends, Emily (who also happens to be a great photographer!) planned out the proposal weeks before.

Emily asked me to go on a girls night and they decided to take some photos in Federal Hill park.  Emily handed me a letter in a blank envelope in the middle of the photoshoot;

it was a letter from Josh.

While I was reading the letter, I looked up and Josh is walking toward me from across the park.

When Josh got to me, he drops to one knee

and proposes,

and Emily got the entire event on camera!”

From Natalie to Josh

Getting to know Josh was a breath of fresh air.

Josh is a genuine person, and is really easy to talk to. Honestly, he could probably have a full conversation with a brick wall and keep a smile on his face the entire time (not even joking).  But really, he has this way about him that when you talk to him,

you feel like he's an old friend you've known your entire life.

He also has this great sense of humor, and non-judgmental demeanor.  Early on, I felt Josh accepted me for who I was, and not a day goes by where I do not still feel the same way.  I am excited to walk through life with Josh because he a driven and passionate person, but stays grounded.

He inspires me daily to go outside my comfort zone and reach for my dreams,

and I cannot wait to walk through this crazy thing called life with him by my side!

From Josh To Natalie

Even before Natalie I began dating, I was always mesmerized by her beauty and smile.

I never thought a trip across country would lead us to a life of adventures together. Through highs and lows,  Natalie has always been my support, my person to listen to my crazy thoughts,

and the reason why I strive to be a better person each and every day.

As we spent night after night talking and learning about each other (and by night, I mean until 3am, which is WAYYYY past my normal bedtime),

I realized I couldn't wait for the next nightly conversation.

I cannot remember the exact moment when I realized that I wanted to marry Natalie, but

I do know that each passing day gives me more reasons as to why I've made the best decision in my life."
