Happy Monday friends!!
So this blog is pretty much my favorite one I've ever written because...
Tyler and I got ENGAGED!
That's right, after 5 1/2 years tyler and I are officially getting hitched! I won't give away every detail just yet (blog post and photos to come), but I'm going to tell it Mashup style!
So a little bit of back story:
I met Tyler when I was 16 and we've been together ever since! High school sweethearts for the win! When I started dating him I wasn't expecting anything to come out of it! I expected it to be like a typical high school relationship (date for a few months, go our separate ways, maybe meet someone later in life), but of course nothing ever goes as planned (thank goodness). After living 4 miles apart for the first 3 and 1/2 years of our relationship I moved to Richmond. It was hard, is hard. Although we still see each other a good amount, we just want to be together. so, we make it work. I clear off one day a week for him specifically, he comes down to visit whenever he gets a free night and badda bing, badda boom.
Since we don't get a ton of time together, I really wanted to celebrate our victories of working so hard on a relationship! About 2 months ago I texted one of my best friends Courtney (who is also a photographer) about photographing Tyler and me for our 5 1/2 years! Long story short (I'll make sure I go into detail in our engagement blog with the photos Courtney took!) Courtney and Tyler planned to turn our anniversary session into an engagement session and it was beyond perfect. Lots of tears of joy and hugs and the word YES! Not to mention all the heart eyes, because I am obsessed with my ring!! A life time of brownie points for my future husband! (so strange to say, but so exciting!!)
We left King George early and Headed for Fredericksburg so we could grab a quick lunch at firehouse subs and have Courtney (so many Courtney's!!) do my hair and make-up (which I decided to do late the night before!! good thing.)
Courtney always does such an amazing job, I was so excited to have her do my hair and make-up for our "anniversary" session!
Our first location Tyler started acting nervous, but I thought it was because we were doing photos! (HOW DID I NOT KNOW!)
BACK STORY #2:
Tyler took me on a little date here about a year ago and the sun was setting and it was the perfect moment and I actually thought he took me our there to propose! I never told him this was the spot I wanted it to be, but it somehow worked out that way!
annnd here come the TEARS
SO MANY TEARS OF JOY
I said... YES!
THE RING!! (insert heart eyes here!!)
Yesterday was such a special day for Tyler and I and I just wanted to thank Courtney so much for helping Tyler plan the whole thing and being there to photographing it! Love you so much Courtney!!
I also wanted to thank everyone who has reached out through phone calls, texts, Facebook, Instagram, and even email to me + Tyler to congratulate us! It means so much to have so much supported through our new journey! We are so grateful for you guys!!
