I had a family session this morning… that turned into a proposal! Hannah messaged me on Instagram, asking if I could photograph her family. What she didn’t know was that I usually don’t photograph families and that her family session was a proposal!
Her mom reached out to me and let me know what the session was going to be and to say I was excited is an understatement!
We had a list of family shots that we got through, and at the very end, I asked her mom if she wanted any more pictures. Hannah didn’t know this, but this was our code for it being time for Troy to propose!
She suggested we get one more family picture (which involved their parents and siblings!). So I took a few and pretended to scroll through my camera to make sure “every picture looks good before I let everyone go “. I pretended that the pictures I had taken of Hannah and Troy earlier weren’t perfect and that I wanted to take one more.
I pulled them in front of your family to “retake a picture of them,” but it was Troy’s time to propose with his family all in the background! He gets massive brownie points for being so creative. Hannah literally fell to her knees and had tears streaming down her face! It was so sweet and special to watch two people who love each other so much get engaged!
PS. This was the perfect way to have a photographer is to have your family come and make sure she’s all dressed up! She even had her nails done, which was perfect. Congrats you two!! Thank you, Troy, and the Hayes family for trusting me with Hannah’s special moment! It was such a fun day!
